Lexi is Graduating! {DFW HS Senior Photographer}

* Lexi *
Marcus High School Class of 2011!!

The senior year is such an exciting time, with your whole life, unwritten in front of you...but it can go by in a blink of an eye!  I always try to keep that in mind when styling the photo session to capture the precious moments of their high school years,  I had such a blast Miss Lexi, helping to bring out her inner diva!  With prom just around the corner, we just had to show off her AH-mazing prom gown.  Doesn't she look stunning?!!  Rhar!
Then came out the Homecoming dress...I simply love this girl's style!  I would love to sport either of these gowns to the grocery store even, though not nearly as good as she can.

And check out part of Lexi's entourage...her 8 week old Golden Doodle puppy, Bono.

I love him!  I love him!  I love him!  I can't tell you how much I wanted to take him home with me.  I think Jonathan would even welcome a sixth pup to our little family!  Ahhh, he is just so stinking cute!  Sorry Lexi, Bono did steal your thunder for just a minute.  :)

This is another one of my favorites!
I think it just screams little miss debutante, walking her pup through Central Park, being chased by the paparazzi, and all they could catch was this quick snippet.  I just love it!!

Lexi, thank you for such an awesome time!  You were absolutely amazing to photograph and I wish you all the success at Texas A&M...I know you will take over the world in no time!!  'Gig Em! (though secretly I want to tell you Boomer Sooner!)

Sabrina B is 6 months old! {Lewisville Baby Photographer}

Sabrina "the Fighter" is now 6 months old!!
Miss Sabrina has gotten so big in just a few short months.  You may remember Sabrina's last portrait session within the NICU, where I had the honor of capturing this new family of 3's first family portrait session.  Well, I'm proud to say this tough little cookie is doing wonderfully, and growing into those beautiful baby blues!!  It was so fun to watch Sabrina's personality shine in the midst of her very own bedroom.

 This little sweetheart is wrapped in so much love...mom, dad, and even Mr. Hooch, the family's Mastiff.  A dog lover myself, I couldn't help but engage Hooch in the portrait session,  Such a sweet face! And, I absolutely loved the fact that he was always within close proximity throughout Sabrina's whole session.  Hooch is definitely going to give all those boys a run for their money in the future!

I love watching this sweet angel grow into a beautiful baby!  I can't wait to see her in another few months.

Amber is 15! {Dallas Quinceanera Photographer}

Quinceanera:  Traditionally, a hispanic celebration of a girl's 15th birthday, marking her passage from childhood to adulthood.

Miss Amber is now 15, and what better way than to kick it all off with a rockin quinceanera?!  I meet lots of teens who strive to fit in with the crowd, including myself way back when!!  But, I just loved how she incorporated her invidualism into the whole event, starting with her dress.  I traditionally see big ballgown dresses, in a rainbow of colors, some with bling and all with tons of tuille.  Amber walked that traditional line, utilizing her favorite color purple, with the big hoop skirt, but I just loved the pop of zebra print she mixed in for flare.  I'm always a fan of the twist on the traditional, and this got 2 gold stars in my book!

Amber was a breeze to photograph!  Those freckles, those eyes, that smile, and that ATTITUDE!  Now don't misunderstand that word as negative.  I always appreciate when my subjects have attitude and aren't afraid to let it shine.  I think it allows them to demand the attention, work the camera, and not allow the camera to simply work them.  Muy importante!  Amber had it all!

Happy birthday Amber!!

The New Vintage {DFW Photographer}

New:  {noo, nyoo}  1.) Of a kind now existing or appearing for the first time.  2.) Having but lately come to a place, position, status, etc.

Vintage: {vin·tage} 1.) Representing the high quality of a past time. 2.) Old-fashioned or obsolete

Yes, a contradiction, but my new birthday gift is definitely the epidemy of vintage.  While shopping one afternoon, my very sneaky sister, managed to distract me just long enough to purchase this AMAZING Falcon fold out camera, Model No.4.

You'd think it would be breeze to date this beauty, however I've had a rather difficult time on this specific model.  (Though, it was more of a Cliffs Notes version of a search)  I have learned that the Falcon-Abbey Electricamera was the first camera with a flashbulb holder.  Isn't she simply stunning?...dust, grime, and all!

Thank you sissy!!  This is one of the neatest gifts I've ever received!

Ashley :: Dallas Portrait Photographer

Burr pricklies, gravel swamps, Dallas police, and random homeless visitors...I must say this portrait session was quite the exciting experience!

Meet Ashley...beautiful, giggley, bubbly, and an amazing set of baby blues!

Ashley is a dear friend, who sadly hasn't had her photos taken since she was a senior in high school.  Blasphemy, I tell you!!  Everyone should treat themselves to an few hours of modeling, a chance to rock their inner beauty, and engross themselves in a little fun!

We had such a blast at this session...interesting, but a total blast!  Location#1 didn't work out so well...WAYYYY too much light...so off we go to Location#2.

I love Location#2, but this is where the interestingness began.  Meet my first love-hate relationship of the day...the sinking sand a'la gravel mound...yes I came up with that very techinical name all by myself!
This gravel mound provided the perfect compliment of texture and simplicity to the rocking graffiti background.  I love it...that is, until it started swallowing up my shoes with every step I took.  Miss Ashley was a total trooper though, balancing, sinking, and sliding all over the place.  It was quite comical!

Now, we won't talk much about my second love-hate relationship of the day.  Well not really love-hate, really just a hate relationship!  Hidden burr pricklies...need I say more?!  Ouch!!!!

So, capturing the sweet and fun loving soul of Ashley was easy...it was bringing out her inner diva that took some prying...
I'd say she rocked it...Roar!

Off to Location#3, 4, 5, 6, all awesome backdrops for Miss Ashley!  She is just a dream!   Ashley, you're an awesome friend and I thank you for just being you!
