The Beautiful Sarah! {Dallas Portrait Photographer}

Why hello blog world! Yes, yes, I realize it's been quite a while since I've last posted (exactly a month today actually), but belive me, it has been quite the busy month! That aside, I come to you with goodness...beautiful goodness!!

Recently, I got together with one of my oldest and dearest friends Sarah...and when I say oldest, I mean the 26yr long and still going strong kind of oldest!! Sarah and I have been the bestest friends since we were a couple of adorable 2yr olds, crazy I know...and we couldn't be more opposite! She, a 5 foot nothing beautiful red-head (turned blonde-ish, though still totally living up to the red-head stereotype), and me the 5'11" friend...hahaha, no don't worry I have a better self image than that, but this posting is all about Sarah, not about me!!

Anyway, Miss Sarah is one amazing Occupational Therapist who basically lives in scrubs more than anything else. And let me tell you, Sarah's fashion sense is so beyond a bunch of scrubs! So, I was able to convince her to gather a bunch of her amazing outfits and let's play fashion shoot (in much of the same way we'd play school or house when we were little, with tons of randomness and laughing!)

So we gathered in this amazing field out by my house, turned on our imaginations, and relocated to some imaginary world where she was the world's top model (working on avoiding her self named "constipated face") and I was a world renowned photographer! Sarah totally worked it (shotgun and all)...

I totally loved Sarah's red suede heels...and those silk stockings, with the seam up the back, straight out of Paris...to die for!

We had an absolute blast the entire afternoon!

And a special thanks to Sarah, for always being there for me, no matter how much time may lapse between seeing one another, or even what university we may align ourselves to, hahahaha...I guess I forgot to mention that The University of Oklahoma (my alum) beat, ok well killed, Texas Tech (Sarah's alum) during our photo session?!!! So not only did we have a killer session, but I also got some bragging rights...hahahahaha!!!

I love you, Sarah!! GB!

Raymer Family Sneak Peek {McKinney Family Photographer}

Hello blog world...oh how I've missed you! It has been a crazy few weeks, but life has been filled with photography goodness. I'm really behind on sharing various snippets, but wanted to start with my most recent family session who joined us from the great state of Oklahoma!

How sweet is this moment between father and son??!! You know, lifestyle photography has become a loosely used term these days, but I view the photography style as capturing those tiny moments in the midst of the craziness of life, that often get overlooked. Doesn't this simply epitimize that?!! Son, who was not feeling especially hot and none too happy to be photographed, and dad simply trying to make him laugh a little. I just love it!!!

This is just a sneak peek, as more awesomness of the whole family is soon to come! This was just too cute to wait to share!! Stay tuned for some more goodness...

Brittany & Steven are Getting Married! {McKinney Wedding Photographer}

Last weekend, I had the honor of assisting Teresa Gardner, with LightBox Photography, at the engagement session of Brittany and Steven. She even let me snap a few...ok we obviously more than a few because as we got going, Brittany and Steven were totally working the cameras!! And now, it's SO difficult for me to just pick a handful of my favs!!

I love learning the backstory of couples, and come to find out that Brittany and Steven are highschool sweethearts, that have made it over all these years, and are now going to become husband and wife. Funny part is, these two are actually alumns of my same high school and are just a few years younger than me. Actually Brittany was in my sister's class, though it didn't sound like they knew each other...which is totally understandable with a graduating class of 1200 students!!!
Ok, so anyway...on to the photography fun...
This session took place at the amazing McKinney Cotton Mill. This was my first experience with the Cotton Mill, and I must say, this place has the most amazing lighting!!! Great nooks and cranies, both indoors and outdoors, with walls of windows letting in a combo of romantic and dramatic lighting. We got to play with silhouettes...
And even a little dance practice for the big day...

Don't these two beautiful individuals make one stunning couple??!!!
This little stairwell, which actually led to nothing but a tiny storage room, was probably a fan favorite of Teresa and I...One of the best locations within the Cotton Mill (at least for soft natural lighting)....

These next photos are some of my top favs. They look so comfortable...just snuggled up on the couch, getting ready for a romantic night in or something. So sweet!!

Steven (a firefighter) and Brittany (a nurse) are a team to be reckoned with. Not only as valuable members of society, saving lives left and right...but they are simply stunning in such a sweet way!

I just love that Teresa and I can use each other to help grow our businesses! She's super talented and despite our Nikon vs. Cannon difference, we work really well together. So, if you're getting married...there are two amazing photographers, Jessica and Teresa, totally ready to capture your memories! Thanks so much Teresa!!

Miss Fiona is 6 months! {McKinney Baby Photographer}

You may remember the adorable Miss Fiona from her newborn session (Beautiful Baby Fiona) we had months ago. Well, she is now 6 months old, and an absolute cutie patootie!! I just can't get over her beautiful baby blues...and her facial expression totally cracked me up! She would laugh, pout, cry, and then turn around and laugh again. It was like a little game she had with the camera. I hope you enjoy...

Miss Fiona wasn't too happy when her sister tried to join the photography fun...so while mom was cheering her up again, we had a mini session with the adorable Aurora...

But like I said, just as she would start getting unhappy, she'd cheer right back up again, showing off her beautiful smile!...

Then it was time to get a little playground fun. I love this one...you can totally tell how much Miss Fiona idealizes her older sister...Mom did say that Big Sis is the only one that can get Miss Fiona to smile sometimes...

This session was a total blast! Yet another reason, why I love working with children. They are so unpredictable and fun loving at the same time. To learn more of how Cattura Photography can capture your little one's childhood memories, please give me a shout at Jessica@catturamemories.com.
