It's the same old boy meets girl story...or is it girl meets boy...or is it girl meets weird dude?
None the less, flashback to a busy bar, with live music (a total bonus!), and me struggling to salvage an evening. I noticed an empty seat (yea!)...close to the band (yea again!)...at a table full of guys (hell yea!!), so I took a chance and hijacked it. Small talk ensued, about this and that, and then this cute guy (though totally not my “type”), joins in on the conversation. In the midst of real estate jibber jabber, this cute-not-my-type guy starts mixing in a wink here and there, flashed in my direction. Honestly, it kind of creeped me out in the beginning. Hahaha!! Apparently, he was trying to signal that he understood that I was having a rough evening and that it would all be ok. Uh huh….
Flash forward few hours, and this cute-not-my-type guy’s friend asks me if I’d be interested in joining he and cute-not-my-type guy at a Dallas Star’s game - in the second row, a few seats from the penalty box!! Uh, YEA!!!!! “Ok, just give cute-not-my-type guy your number and we can touch base as the game gets closer”, the friend says. What did I do?? I gave him my work cell number, just in case cute-not-my-type guy was in fact a weird creepy guy.
Flash forward some more, with weeks texting back and forth, some drinks to break the ice and see if we’d really hit it off, the awesome experience at the Stars game, some Putt Putt golf (where I got 3 holes in one!!!) and that random, kind of creepy with the winking thing, cute-not-my-type guy totally stole my heart!!!
Why all this flashing back and forth you ask?? Well 3 years ago today, that cute-not-my-type guy told me that he loved me, and it changed my whole life!! He changed into that cute-totally-my-type-want-to-spend-the-rest-of-my-life-with kind of guy! This just goes to show, one should always keep an open mind. Don’t walk away from someone because they are not your “type”. God could have a different plan for you, and you could be missing out on something so amazing. I took a chance….and I never want to look back!! (Well, maybe to reminisce just a little!)
Happy anniversary lovebug!!!

RANGERS CLINCH!!!! {McKinney Baby Photographer}
Finally... The Texas Rangers have clinched a playoff spot!!! Dallas has always been more of a football town, but lately our Texas Rangers are giving the Cowboys a run for their money (well probably not even close, but at least a dent). Granted the Cowboys will always be America's team, but it's a refreshing change for baseball fans, including my boyfriend who has been giddy since Saturday night!!
So, in honor of the Texas Ranger's playoff birth, I had to share this adorable photo of Miss Fiona showing her Ranger pride. Ok yes, she's not too happy to wear her daddy's hat, but just knowing dad's Ranger fandom, Fiona is a Texas Ranger fan in the works.
We had her 6mo photo session last week, and there will be so much awesomeness to come...but here is just one more snippet to show what a beautiful, happy baby Miss Fiona is!!

Frederic and Jenn are Expecting!! {Plano Maternity Photographer}
Frederic and Jenn are expecting...well not really anymore. They just welcomed their wonderful baby daughter!! I'm so excited for them, and in honor of this wonderful birth, I wanted to share some of my favs from their awesome maternity session we had just a few weeks back.
You may remember snippets from Jenn's Tunnel of Lights maternity session posted in the past. That was just a trial run, for the real deal...mom, dad, and baby's first photo session!!
I've been waiting for the right couple to execute my playful vision of maternity photos on a playground. Fred and Jenn were perfect!!! They spent the whole time talking, laughing, and kind of making fun of one another, which allowed me perfect moments to capture their playful sides in such a playful setting. (Can I say playful any more...let's see...)

The below photo is one of my absolute favorites! It so lighthearted and fun-loving, and is a perfect disply of the two's personalities. Baby Joesphine is one lucky little girl!...
And then this one, another favorite of mine!! So serene and loving...!
I know this is exactly the norm, I mean who really likes having their faces washed out from a portrait?? But being a maternity session, I loved how it all works together...
Ok, I'll stop giving a guided tour of the photos...Enjoy!!
This was so fun!! Thank you, Frederic and Jenn, for allowing me to be a part of this special time!! You are two of my favorite people and you will be two of the most amazing parents...I will be calling you when I freak out with my first pregnancy/baby!! Let's hope we will have photos of Miss Cuite Patootie very very soon!

Athanas {Richardson HS Senior Photographer}
Oh blog, how I've neglected you! Good reason though...I've been working on some greatness!
Meet Athanas, Cattura Photography's newest HS senior, class of 2011, Cattura FB followers may have already seen snippets of his session, but I loved it so much, I wanted to share it with the blogging world as well.
The success of my photography business only thrives with the precious referrals that I receive from past subjects. You may remember the railroad greatness that I photographed of Kamela a few months back. Well, we had such a great session, that the beautiful Kamela put me in touch with her good looking brother.

Got to love the greatness of the perfect urban backdrop...

The Woods {Dallas Family Photographer}
I hope everyone has had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend! Cattura Photography has so much blogging to catch up on...so here's a start...
Every once in a while, a photographer has the pleasure of working with people that just make the job easy. And, this family is totally that case!!! They knew of a beautiful location, hidden away where one has to know it's there or will never find it again, dressed perfectly in a hot summer day kind of style, and all knew how to just work the camera...even the youngest at only 4 years old!! Aside from the brutal Texas heat, this whole family session was spot on!

I absolutely love capturing people, simply in the moment. In reality, this was dad guiding his girls amongst the slippery river rocks, hoping they don't slip, but in this specific precious moment, you can tell it's more than that...it's a proud papa enjoying some quality time with his girls!!

Photographers like to have fun too! {Lewisville Wedding Photographer}
I know, I've already said it...it has been a whirlwind couple of months!! I have so many photography projects, editing, designing, creating, shooting, (blah blah blah), that I'm working on, I'm starting to think I need a clone just to find the time to sleep in the midst of it all!
Nonetheless, as hard as I work, I absolutely love what I do!! And, us photographers love to let loose a little and have fun at work! While photographing Shannon & Gene's wedding festivities this past weekend (a sneak peek to come soon, I promise!), Teresa and I took a few minutes to have fun in the photo booth...can you tell we have fun together?!
Kudos to Matt & Kristen (with 4Flashes Photo Booths) for setting up an awesome experience for the guests to let loose and show their "true selves". All...I seriously recommend a photo booth for your weddings! It's a total blast...and be sure to give Matt and Kristen a call!!
More blog posts of the recent awesomeness I've been capturing, to come soon...promise!
