It has been a great summer for Cattura Photography!
Despite the warm days/nights, I've had wonderful brides, newlyweds, expecting mothers, seniors, couples, and families who have allowed me into their lives to capture their awesome memories! You have all been such troopers, venturing out to take in this beautiful Texas summer, not to mention braving the brutal heat. I just want to thank all of you, as it is your support, willingness and open minds that truly helps build Cattura's success. Cheers to you all!!!
Oh yea...and take that Texas heat!!!! You can't keep us hiding indoors!!

Shannon, the Blushing Bride! {Lewisville Wedding Photographer}
I've been looking forward to sharing Shannon's bridals, but just couldn't risk Gene seeing them before the big day. Well that day is finally here!! Shannon and Gene are the new Mr. & Mrs! Yea!!
Shannon and I had planned a beautiful bridal session amongst the colorful backdrup of the Arboretum, and then off to a prime location for some sunset skyline photos. Well....plans don't always work out quite as you have envisioned in your head. To start, you can pretty much guarantee that summers in Dallas are hot, however being born and raised in the area, I can't remember a summer day being so brutally hot, that I questioned my sanity. The day of Shannon's bridal session was one of those days. I don't even know the actual temperatures, but it felt like we were shooting on the face of the sun!! I can only imagine how hot Shannon must have been in that beautiful wedding gown (which I drooled over the moment I saw it!). Shannon was an absolute trooper though...not to mention quite the salesman, convincing one of the commuter golf cart guys to basically be our chauffer for the afternoon...which they clearly are not supposed to do.
So back to the purpose of this post...I had a nice chunk of favorites ready to post, but again had a change of plans. Shannon and Gene's wedding revolved around various shades of the color pink, so why not create her bridals do the same. These super edited versions are simply for today's post, to add a bit of fun flare to the normal bridal portrait...so check out a few favs of this beautiful blushing bride...

Savannah's Tea Party {Lewisville Kiddo Photographer}
Meet the adorable Miss Savannah! This independent little 4 year old is so stinking cute!
Despite the brutal TX heat, we scheduled this family session outdoors, at one fantastic locale! (more on that later) ... But before we involved the whole family, mom and dad thought it a good idea for me to come to the house first, and let Savannah warm up to the new face behind the camera.
She was pretty shy in the beginning, but it took us no time to be BFFs and she was ready to show off, starting with her bedroom. Miss Savannah’s room is newly renovated, and straight out of what I envision a little princess’s bedroom to be. Honestly, my 4 year old self was a little jealous of how awesome this pink room really was!
As my 4 year old self stands in awe for a moment, out comes the table, the places are set, the invitations are accepted, and the tea-party is on!
Savannah is certainly the hostess with the mostest, offering her guests their spot of tea (aka water, but it definitely added to the effect) and even tasty homemade cake that she baked on her table-top oven. It was quite the soirée!!

Kimberly's Bridals {Addison Bridal Photographer}
Kimberly and Russ are now Carrollton's new Mr. and Mrs! Yea!! And not only do the newlyweds start a beautiful life together, but I finally get to share Kimberly's bridals!
Kim and I met bright and early a few months back (just before the TX summer reared its ugly head). I've had brides arrive to their bridal session with a close friend or family member...even a few with a full on entourage...but Kim was different. I remember laughing as I saw her VW taking the turn, totally overwhelmed with her bridal gown. Yes, I admit, I should have snapped off a quick photo to commemorate the occasion, but can't you just picture it?!! Anyway, out pops Kim, bright, bubbly, and solo, ready to rock her bridals!
I simply love playing with the tulle of bridal gowns. I know the main function of the tulle is structural, but I simply love the playful, sexy feel to it...

As a nod to her mom, Kim sported her mom's wedding veil for both her bridals and during the ceremony. After 30 years of marriage for her mom and dad, I don't doubt this veil will bring 30 years of love and happiness for Russ and Kim, followed by many many more!!

And a quick nod to her professional life...Kim works for a high end sunglass distributor. Ohhh, I would be in so much trouble in that line of work...I admit, sunglasses are one of my guilty pleasures! I'm really bad with them though, rarely using the case, scratching them up in my bag, dropping them, whatever. Maybe one day, I can get a grown-up pair of sunglasses...
Congratulations Russ and Kim!! Stay tuned for some sneak peeks of your festivities!

Jenn's "Tunnel of Lights" Maternity Portraits {Garland Portrait Photographer}
I had the honor of capturing my good friend, Jenn's maternity portraits the other night. It's not the formal portrait shoot we have planned, but given the 100+ temps we are having around here, we wanted to have some fun in the 95+ evening heat. I found the perfect location, amongst of tunnel of lights, granting Jenn the opportunity to rock with great surroundings, and me to test night photography without a flash...talk about some high ISO!!!
Check out Jenn rocking that beautiful baby belly...
I love playing with depth of field...not to mention, Jenn is gorgeous!
And I had to save the best for last...I simply love this romantic, relaxed, washed out goodness...
Thank you so much Jenn! I had a total blast! I can't wait for the formal shoot with both you and Frederic...not to mention, meet Miss Josephine very very soon!
For more details of how I can capture your beautiful baby belly, please contact me at Jessica@catturamemories.com ... Or check out more awesomeness at http://www.catturamemories.com/.

Mallory's Impromptu Portraits {Plano Photographer}
Last weekend, a hot morning out with my sis Mallory, turned a simple goal of location scouting, into an impromptu portrait session.
A little light testing here...some rocking aviators there...
And what kind of girls would we be if we didn't accessorize further? In comes the fedora...Who doesn't feel sassy in a fedora?!
I absolutely love this shot down here on the right. A clear shot of my grandmother's favorite cross, which Mal now proudly wears. It was as if Grand M was right there, rocking the photo shoot with us!
And check out Mal's crystal blues!
This has been the most fun location scouting adventure to date. Bravo sissy!!
