I mentioned that this past week's assignment focused on landscape photography. Though I wouldn't consider it one of my strongest skills (mostly because I never gave myself a chance to play with the techniques), I was off to find a location that I value, to share with others. I remember a spot I found while walking my dog through our community's walking trails. It was just as the snow was melting, so fingers crossed it hadn't all dried up....my luck!! Here are some of my favorite images of my neck of the woods...
And my favorite...I love how the sun dances amongst the trees...and the shadows!

Cattura's New Look for Spring!
I've never been very interested in landscape photography (mostly because I like people way too much) but my class forced me to test my eye for it. I must say, I enjoyed the peace and quiet as I walked around our neighborhood trails, and I just love this photo of a budding tree.
In fact, I love it so much, I think it's Cattura's new look for Spring! What do you think??

Kim + Russ {Carrollton Engagement Photography}
Kim and Russ are getting married (though that is still a few months away)! To celebrate their engagement, I had the honor of capturing some playful Engagement photos.
Kim and I had planned an outdoor photo shoot, a little around the quaint downtown square and then off to a beautiful park close to their home...Although, the Texas weather decided to throw us a curve ball instead. As soon as I pull up to our first location (a little early to scope out a few locations around the square) it starts pouring, giving me just enough time to make it under the gazebo, just dry enough. So what do we do?...we make the best of a dreary situation, constant sprinkles, frizzy hair, and all...Thankfully Kim and Russ were such troppers!!
Luckily, the rain subsided just a enough, allowing us to capture some great memories for the Save the Date cards...though it did not really accomodate the park setting. You've got to just love the Texas weather!! Well, we won't let it spoil all of our fun...We will just schedule "Kim and Russ Engagements: Round 2". Stay tuned for some even more fun Round 2 shots...

Mike + Angie: Dallas Wedding Photography
My brother Mike recently married the love of his life, Angie, whom we all love! Despite a few minor pre-ceremony glitches, it was a wonderful celebration of their love and blending of the families...how cliche do I sound right now?! =)
Though I wasn't the photographer, what kind of photographer would I be without my camera?! Honestly, I think this is the first wedding a very long time, where I did nothing but enjoy myself, but I did have to snap just a few photos...especially the cake cutting, one of my favorite parts! C * A* K * E!!!!!!!

Rachael: Dallas Children's Photographer
Recap...I'm taking a photography class to polish and freshen my photog skills...And with school, comes homework...Yea!!!!! So now what to do, what to do?
Setp 1, find a sbuject...aha...what better subject than my great friend's 14 year old daughter Rachael. Yes everyone, she is 14 going on 25 and absolutely beautiful!! This girl has totally mastered the technique of smiling with your eyes (or "smizing" for all of you Top Model fans)
Step 2, pose the subject asscording to my creative vision...Nahhhhh...the camera just loves her so this is just a point and shoot step. The girl just knows what to do and totally makes my job easy.
Step 3, turn in homework...OH WAIT...you leave your flashdrive in your bag at home and have nothing to show in class...AWESOME!! Oh, well...now I share with you...
